Spectacles that are not being used can be donated, via the wooden box near the food donation area in the main entrance off the processional driveway, at the church.
They are sent through the Blackburn Lions Club to countries where glasses are often not available to the general population. Donated spectacles are inspected, and any small repairs needed done by volunteers.
The project has operated for 26 years with millions of pairs of refurbished quality spectacles going to men, women and children in need. Places the glasses go to include Tonga, Fiji, Timor, Indonesia, Nepal & many other countries.
Thank you for looking in your drawers and cupboards and donating any spectacles that you are no longer using.
