Bookcrossing is a simple idea, established 21 years ago in the USA by a couple of Vets who thought it might be a bit of fun!!
Not for profit, it is run and managed by volunteers throughout the world.
Bookcrossers enjoy it in so many different ways including purely an interest in literature, those of us who like to play with books, on line chat forums, enjoy attending worldwide conventions annually (onhold for the past two years due to Covid) the next one is planned for the Gold Coast in April. Many Bookcrossers prefer to remain completely anonymous others (like our keen Melbourne Bookcrossers) enjoy meeting once a month. As we gain pleasure from giving away books, on the whole, Bookcrossers are a generous lot, come from diverse backgrounds and welcoming by nature (especially to anyone who shows an interest in Bookcrossing).
